A hidden jewel of a cafe. The place is a little off-the main route, not being directly at the port, but it's worth taking a 3 minute walk to find it. The couple running the place excel at customer service, it basically feels like a tea with a family. Great for children / families, with toys and high chairs.Very fresh food, home-made pastries. Make sure to try the Cream Tea here - the widest selection of choices to go with the tea I've had all over Cornwall (along with telling me how it should be had).

Visited the Pilchard Press Cafe twice so far during our weeks stay. We've enjoyed tea & cake (the Victoria sponge is beautiful) and lunch and both were fabulous. We received a warm welcome, ate delicious food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, topped off with excellent customer service. Fantastic all round!

Incredible cosy café and amazing find in the village! We were really grateful to find somewhere to have an amazing coffee and that accommodated for a few vegan options too! This can be quite hard to find in some places in Cornwall so it really meant a lot to us!The staff are friendly, the lady who runs it is very warm and friendly and this place was a real pleasure. They serve breakfast, sandwiches, cake and excellent hot drinks. The place was full of character and so close to the harbour too.

A great family owned cafe, they clearly pride themselves on customer service. Our order took longer than expected, which can happen. But they offered us free complimentary warm chocolate cake, without any hesitation. The panini's were great and the chocolate cake was delightful! The best place to eat when visiting Mousehole Harbour

Excellent food - the smoked mackerel pate is absolutely amazing. And the chocolate cake is like nothing else you've ever tasted. The owner really know his stuff as well - he predicted the rain to within a minute, which saved us a soaking by getting to the car on time!!! Definitely worth a visit if you're holidaying in Cornwall.

Very warm welcome, kids were offered books, toys, and colouring as soon as we arrived. Superb food, the mackerel pate was delicious. Staff were lovely, thank you very much! The chocolate truffles were an added bonus.

Had the most lovely time in the Old Pilchard press cafe. I went with my two young boys and Harriett was super friendly and helpful. We had her deliciously freshly chocolate cake. There were toys, story books and drawing books and pads to entertain the kids. Highly recommend!

We visited here in July 2020 and we cannot recommend this lovely cafe enough. It is a beautiful, intimate, traditional tea room and I can honestly say that the Traditional Cream Tea that we had was the best we have ever had. Everything was home made, the scones were warm and we even had china cups and saucers to drink the lovely tea from. The selection of cakes was fantastic, and the ambiance in the family run cafe was relaxed and welcoming. Would 100% return if we are in Cornwall again.
